| Dentistry and community service are two passions of mine. As a volunteer during UW's Healthcare Alternative Spring Break, I learned the value of having a dentist where access to healthcare is scarce and saw first-hand the struggles under-served people face when they don't know where to turn for help. This experience inspires me to pave the way to make dental care more accessible within our local and greater Seattle community. I believe that we must help bring dental care and educaiton to under-served populations as well as increase awareness for cultural diversity. As a representative of the Seattle Japanese Queen Scholarship Program, I hope to contribute to making positive changes in our community and help create a future that will ensure nobody is left behind. |
