| Congratulations to the 2012 Participants! May 28, 2012 - Posted by Mari Sunday, May 27, 2012 at the Theatre at Meydenbauer Center, the Japanese Queen Scholarship Organization of Washington crowned the 53rd Queen and Princesses. Taking the title of 53rd Washington Japanese and Cherry Blossom Festival Queen is Yuna Marie Nishimoto, sponsored by Green Lake Games and Sakahara and Hashimoto, LLC. First Princess and Miss Tomodachi is Taryn Lee Imanishi, sponsored by Dr. Bryan Maruhashi and Cascade Kendo Kai. Princess Nicole Lee, sponsored by Umai-Do Japanese Sweets; Princess Sylvie Shiosaki sponsored by Bush Woodcraft and The Lipitz Family; and Princes Heidi Iha sponsored by Nikkei Concerns, Mutual Fish, and West Coast Printing. After holding preliminary judging on Saturday, May 19th, final judging was completed during the Scholarship Celebration by an esteemed panel of judges: Patrick Kane, Ann Marie Louie, Angela Hiroshima, Diane Adachi, and Shawn Sudo. Final judges, along with Elsie Taniguchi, also conducted the preliminary judging portion a week prior.
